Ravee Gupta will soon be seen on B.R. Chopra's Dharampatni to be aired on Sony. She was last seen in Zee's Ravan, wherein she played the role of Ravan's mother. She was on a self- imposed break for six months post marriage. After which she was pushed by her husband actor Manoje Biddvai to once again take up work.
Talking about her new role Ravee says, "My name in the serial is Maneka. I am playing the business partner of Aman Verma who is playing Viresh." She adds, "I share a great business relationship with Aman in the serial. We are also very good friends which results in creating tensions between Aman and his wife. But later everything clears off. I too become good friends with her."
The show is not just about the relationship but also the other aspects of life. The serial concentrates on Viresh's life and his aspirations. It also shows his conflict with his parents and issues with his wife.
Ravee still feels that his role is the vital part of the show. She says, "My character in the serial is very important. The U.S.P of the show is that it is not just about the relationships that one sees on most serials but it focuses on other aspects of life as well."
Ravee played the role of a mother in Ravan but she had to take the opportunity. She says, "We actors go cribbing about the lack of opportunities, so when it came to me took it up. I agree that an actor gets typecast in the industry which is very unfortunate and being a girl I too was terrified." She adds, "Its takes a lot to play such characters at a young age but I had t do it. As an actor I am supposed to experiment doing all kinds of roles."
The Anil.V.Kumar directed serial is slated to go on-air in March.
