Star Plus' SRK game show to also air on Star Vijay

NEW DELHI: Star Plus' Shah Rukh Khan-anchored reality game show Kya Aap Paanchvi Pass Se Tez Hain? will also have a Tamil sibling on Star Vijay.

The prize money and the host for the show on Star Vijay is not known. As reported earlier by indiantelevision.com, Khan will dole out Rs 50 million as prize money for the winner of the Hindi show.

Bulldog Media & Entertainment has licenced the international format from Mark Burnett Productions, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader?, to Star Plus and Star Vijay.

With this, Bulldog Media & Entertainment will be the the first media company to licence an international show to a South Indian TV broadcaster.

Bulldog Media & Entertainment selects entertainment formats and adapts it to the Indian environment for the Indian TV viewers.

The show in Star Plus is being produced by Synergy Adlabs in association with Bulldog Media and Entertainment.

Star India CEO Uday Shankar said, “We feel a sense of pride looking back at the accomplishments of Star Plus, but at the same time we also know that we have a responsibility of maintaining that level in keeping our audience entertained.”

Commenting on his involvement in this project, Khan said: “I have been trying to work for children for some time now and I’m glad I got this opportunity. I am doing this for my children and all the children in the country.”

In order to win the prize money, a contestant is required to answer 10 questions on various subjects including history, mathematics and sciences.

There will be four different formats of questions - direct answers, true/false, multiple choice and also audio-visual.

The set will be that of a classroom and there will be five 5th graders to join the contestant in the class. If the contestant is eliminated, he will have to admit he is not as smart as a 5th grader, which, Khan describes, will be “Funnily embarrassing.”

However, there will be five children selected from various schools across India. The children, who will be called the classmates of the contestants, will be the helplines. The helplines are broadly classified into "copy," "taak jhaak" and "bachao."
