Annu Ki Ho Gayee Wah Bhai Wah sets up a perfect cuisine, as the serial caters to its audience the right blend of ‘Khatta’, ‘Meetha’ and ‘Namkeen’ characters. In the midst of all these flavors, the show recently witnessed the entry of the ‘one and only’ missing spice, wherein Neil Mehra, played by Mukul Chhablani, entered to play the only negative character in the show. As the young lad is all set to grace the ‘Bad Man’ throne, the Telly Buzz team caught up with the 21 year old Mukul Chabblani to know more on his ‘odd man out’ experience in the serial…
"I have always had it in me to stand apart from the crowd and this is what I am doing in the show as well, standing apart from all the positive characters in the show...", exclaims Mukul with a witty grin on his face. So does that add on to the popular belief that actors prefer negative roles over positives? “Well, not really. I would like to try all genres of characters, whether positive or negative.”, says Mukul. He then adds, “Who doesn’t really like a little bit of spice in their lives?(laughs)”
When asked if Mukul relates to the character at all, he promptly replied, “I guess to a certain extent I do. Neil is an easy going guy, and so am I. I am certainly not as bad as him, but the zest to achieve success lies in me as well…” This year, Diwali proved good for Mukul as he says, “The show happened at a very auspicious time for me. I was back at my hometown, Ahmedabad, for Diwali, when I got a call from DJ’s and things worked out.”
Not revealing much about the future track, Mukul claims that he isn’t the right person to answer that, and the viewers will have to wait and watch for more salt and pepper in the story. “Please keep hating me as the wicked Neil Mehra, and love me double as Mukul…”, says the actor as he signs off.
