Vinod Singh plays negative in Amber Dhara

Everybody remembers Vinod Singh as the sweet and smiling 17-year old doctor Ayushmaan. The news now is that the actor returns to television after a long hiatus in Amber Dhara. Here is Vinod talking about his character and future plans.

Tell us something about the character you will be playing in Amber Dhara?

The character’s name is Tarun Khanna, but he is referred to as TK in the serial. He is very ambitious and wants to gain fame and riches by hook or by crook. He works as a drummer. Since his main aim is to make money, he accepts the offer made by Kamini to kill Amber Dhara.

Is it a cameo role?

No it’s not a cameo role. The character will be there in the serial for 30-35 episodes.

How was the experience working on the sets of Amber Dhara?

It was a wonderful experience. I am playing a negative shade for the first time and the director Bhushanji was very co-operative and helpful. Even the co-actors were very nice. I enjoyed working with the unit.

As you said, you’re playing a negative shade for the first time; So what made you choose this role?

I was out of work for quite some time and was looking for a good role to make a comeback into television. That was the time I was offered this role and sounded interesting; I was prompted to take it up.

You have returned to television after a long hiatus; what did you do in this break?

No I was there in the industry. After Ayushman I did Yeh Meri Life Hai and Fame Gurukul. After this, I started concentrating on my modeling career because I thought due to acting I was neglecting it. I was in the industry, though not in serials.

Any new projects in the pipeline?

Well right now I am doing Amber Dhara on Sony, then there is Ghar ek Sapna on Sahara and I will be doing a Balaji Telefilms serial Koi Jane Kya Hoga on Sony.

Can you give us a gist of the character and the storyline of Koi Jane Kya Hoga?

Koi Jane Kya Hoge is like a sequel to Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat. The concept is the same. It is based on different thriller stories with one story running for 5 to 6 episodes. The serial goes on air in February. I am playing the lead in the first story; I play a college boy and one of the trustee’s son. He is the leader of his group of friends and due to some circumstances one of his friend gets killed. At this point, this is all I can reveal.
