Indian celebrity singer Ishmeet Singh drowned in a Maldivian resort on Tuesday. Singh, 20, had been frolicking in a shallow pool meant for children. Later he jumped into the deep-end of the main swimming pool and had immediately run into difficulty, an official of the Dhonveli resort said.
"We understand that he did not know how to swim and had been advised by his friends not to get to the deep end," a hotel official said.
He arrived in the Indian Ocean atoll nation early on Tuesday to sing at a musical concert on Friday. He had won the "Voice of India" singing competition organised by the Star Television Network and shot to stardom in November last.

This seems to be a planned murder by some rival group who was burning with jealousy, He was a very simple , clear heartd , shy lad which seems to became his weakness and rivals took advantage of it. Why star is not seeing it through this angle ....? Along with my condolences to his family and friends, my request is that his family should have his postmartum done and get the investigations done; sue the hotel/resort center/ programme organisers for this incident. Death of 19 years old....same on all who are connected with this incident in any way.
I have no words to express my feelings and the trauma his parents must be passing through. May god give us and particularly his parents the courage to bear this tragedy.
