Rohit Purohit impressed the viewers with his boy next door image and once again the actor who plays a naughty and aspiring director in Zee TV's Sanskaar Laxmi will be back with a new look in Imagine's Chandragupta Maurya.

According to our source, "Rohit will enter as Bhadrasaal, a full on negative and powerful guy who will be hired by Dhananad (Sooraj Thapar ) to kill Chandragupta (Ashish Sharma) and Chanakya (Manish Wadhwa). Chandragupta has now openly challenged Dhananad so he approaches Bhadrasaal to defend himself."

Rohit Purohit was unavailable for his words on the same.

Looks like the upcoming spell in the show is going be filled by Bhadrasaal's evil deeds. Whether he succeeds in his mission or not is something we will have to watch.

Aditya Redij On holidays in Goa

The actor took time off for some urgent work, however, onlookers state that the actor was holidaying in Goa.

Imagine's show Sawaare Sabke Sapne - Preeto produced by Creative Eye has managed to strike the right chord with its viewers as the show has reached the #1 position on the channel in quick time.

The lead faces Aditya Redij and Ankita Sharma are rocking as a couple, now that the audience loves their chemistry on screen. But it seems that the actor's closeness with his girlfriend and ex co-star Natasha Sharma is creating a problem for the Aditya-Ankta on screen Jodi.

An insider informs, "Aditya recently asked for an off from the show to leave for some urgent personal work. However, it came as a shock to the channel and the production house when Aditya was spotted holidaying and having a gala time with his girlfriend Natasha Sharma."

TellyBuzz contacted Aditya Redij and he surprisingly denied the whole fact and said, "I was not in Goa. In fact I was in my home town Kolhapur as it had been three years since I went there. I had a pleasant time there after long."

Natasha also echoed the same tone of refusal.

Billu Barbar in Ghar Ki Baat Hai

The very versatile actor Irfan Khan who began his acting career on television with shows like Chanakya and Banegi Apni Baat is now returning to small screen with Red Chillies Idiot Box' Ghar Ki Baat Hai. Basking in the glory of success of SlumDog millionaire right now, he would be seen in the much awaited SRK produced film 'Billo Barber'.

Come 7th February, the actor will be seen enacting his reel character in Ghar Ki Baat Hai. "Irfan will be part of an episodic, where he will play Billu the barber, as in the film. The movie is all set for release, hence he is there in a special appearance" says Bhavana Sresth, Creative Director of the show.

Irfan will be seen with Juhi Babbar and Jayati Bhatia in the show.

Karan Hukku enters NDTV Imagine's Radha Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi

Following Mona Singh’s entry in NDTV Imagine's Radha Ki Betiyaan Kuch Kar Dikhayengi, the show will see the entry of actor Karan Hukku.

Our source informs us, “Karan’s entry is before Mona’s. He makes an appearance this week and plays the role of an advertisement agency owner.” To know more details about his stint in the show, we contacted Karan who says, “The name of my character is KD and he owns an advertising agency. He is very rich and creative. At times he behaves very overconfident, but is actually a perfectionist by nature.”

“The story has a twist when Ragini applies for a job in KD’s office. I cannot reveal anymore than this, but all I can say is that KD is the guy who brings about a huge change in Ragini’s life”, adds Karan.

But wasn’t he supposed to focus only on films after Kahe Na Kahe? “Yes, in fact I already have a movie in the pipeline, but the shooting has been delayed till December. I did not want to sit idle and spoke to a friend about it. She always wanted to work with me but never got the opportunity. Later, she insisted I take up this role and I was quite intrigued by the character too”, he quips. So his role is a cameo. “Well, I want to shoot only till December as I want to give 100% attention to my movie. We’ll just have to see how things pan out as I am currently doing only one show”, concludes the actor.

'MAHIMA SHANI DEV KI' on NDTV Imagine...

Starting this July, NDTV Imagine presents Mahima Shani Dev Ki… a mythological series that traces the story of Lord Shani, the planet God of the Hindu’s. Produced by Sagar Arts, this mega show aims to bring to light the greatness of Lord Shani, tackling the myths that surround this deity and the powerful effects of his planet. The character of Lord Shani will be essayed by Daya Shankar Pandey. Mahima Shani Dev Ki will launch with a special one-hour episode on Saturday, July 26, 2008 at 8:00 p.m. only on NDTV Imagine. From the following week, the show will air every Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 8:00 p.m.

Lord Shani is depicted dark in color, clothed in black, holding a sword, arrows and two daggers and mounted on a black vulture or a raven. This God who presides over 'Shani-war' or Saturday is the son of the Sun-God Surya and Chhaya. It is said that when Lord Shani opened his eyes as a baby for the very first time, the sun went into an eclipse, which clearly denotes the impact of Shani on astrological charts. Raajkumar Aaryyan to go off air

Annirudh Dave's dream NDTV Imagine show, Raajkumar Aaryyan has turned into a nightmare as the fantasy tale is being wrapped up within the next few episodes. When we spoke to this 21 year old lead from Rajasthan, he confirmed the news saying “What has to happen will happen!! All I want to say is that I had a great time playing this valiant prince”.

The show which was supposed to be initially penciled for 52 episodes is being ended quickly for lack of TRPs. Readers must have noticed the sudden change in story pace from the time first mani was found. The remaining 6 mani's are being found in single episodes. This was done, for the creative's had taken a call to end the show by then.

According to our khabru, channel honchos feel that fantasy genre is limited to children. Plus the show being a weekly gets very difficult for the audiences to come back.

However it seems that Annirudh does not buy this argument for he is reported to be very unhappy with the way the show was publicized. Our source over heard him saying that even Doordarshan shows get better publicity. He supposedly feels that, had Aaryyan got good publicity like in the initial period, it would have rocked. The source added that nobody knows of the amount of hard work we have put in, like the use of the latest camera technology etc.

The channel kabru rejected the above argument by saying they work on strategy where shows are given publicity according to their worth. Raajkumar Aaryyan has not been able to replicate the success of say a Radha ki Betiyaan, the person from the channel remarked.

The channel is working out on some alternate programming for the Wednesday evening slot. But in the mean time, Raajkumar may be replaced by either a repeat or the dailies may be extended to an hour.

So what's next for Annirudh? “The moment I get free from this Sphere Origin contract, I will look at other options”, says he. Did the lack of TRP affect your popularity? “No I did get a lot of fame up north”, he ended.

In a moment that captures the respect that the seasoned musicians have for each other, Ustad Rahat Fateh Ali Khan requests Daler to sing his favourite ‘Bolo Tara Ra’ while Daler also makes a request – for Ustad Rahat to sing ‘Mann ki lagan’. Both performances are a treat to watch.

The highlight of the show is when Maati Ke Lal contestant, Malini Awasthi and Daler, who have been coincidently trained under the same Guru - Rahat Ali sing a bandish together, which they have learnt from him.

Nevertheless, all this fun will end with an elimination. On Junoon, the elimination is completely based on the performances. With the voting lines opening this weekend, viewers can vote for their favorite performer. Once the votes are tallied over week, the weakest genre will be identified. NDTV Imagine presents 'Tyohaar Ki Bahaar'

This Sunday, join in the festivities as NDTV Imagine presents ‘Tyohaar Ki Bahaar’, a special television event to celebrate the best of Indian Festivals. Tyohaar Ki Bahaar will feature on-stage performances by television’s favourite artists such Shweta Tiwari, Eijaz Khan, Naman Shaw, Surveen Chawla, Chaitanya Chaudhary, Megha Gupta, Krishna and Ketki. This two hour special, to be aired at 8:30 pm, on June 22, takes viewers on an exciting and enlightening journey through the colorful festivals celebrated across this cultural rainbow called India.

‘Tyohaar Ki Bahaar’ will feature song and dance performances by television’s leading stars on songs that have become symbolic to the celebrations during these festivals. Naman and Megha will kick start the event with an energetic performance on the song Rang De Basanti commemorating the ‘Yellow’ festival ‘Basant Panchami’, the Hindu festival traditionally celebrated on the first day of spring. The ‘Yellow’ festival is marked with people usually wearing yellow garments, Saraswati worshippers dressed in yellow and yellow sweets being consumed within the families.

On Sankranti, the Gujarati's offer thousands of their colorful oblations in the form of beautiful kites all over the skyline with great devotion, fervour and gaiety. Surveen and Chaitanya will perform on Kaipoche, a song that best depicts the festival. The festivities get in to full swing with Krishna, Shweta and Eijaz raising the tempo to celebrate Baisakhi, a festival that marks the harvest season in North India. The trio will bring forth the Punjabi spirit through songs like Balle Balle, Tere Roop Di Gori Balle Balle and Nagada Nagada.

The artists will pay their reverence to the Gods with a well compiled feature on Ganesh Chaturthi and Janmasthmi. Naman, Megha, Chaitanya and Surveen will dance to celebrate the respective days when Lord Ganesha and Lord Krishna bestowed their presence on the earth for all their devotees. The Navratri or the nine nights of worshipping nine forms of Shakti (Metaphor for Goddess Durga) is celebrated with vigour and fervour in all parts of the country particularly in Western India. Ketki and Krishna will groove to the Dandiya beats on songs like Chalo Dheere Dheere, Odhni Odhu To Udi Udi Jaye, Aayo Re Mahro Dholna and Halo Sambho

Durga Puja, the largest Hindu festival in Bengal, is celebrated over the preceding nine days of Navaratri. The festival is traditionally viewed as the coming of the married daughter, Durga, to her father, Himalaya’s home. Eijaz, Shweta and Ketki will dance to some of the big Hindi film hits like Maa Sheravali, Dola re Dola and Jai Ma Kali dedicated to the Goddess.

Eijaz and Krishna will conclude the revelries for the night with an enthralling performance celebrating the end of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting. The two will celebrate Eid-Ul-Fitr with dance performance on the recent hits Khwaja Mere Khwaja and Dekho Chand Aaya

Apart from the electrifying performances, ‘Tyohaar Ki Bahaar’ will also enlighten viewers about the various facts about these festivals providing various insights relating to mythology, superstitions and unknown facts.

Starting June 24th, another significant chapter unfolds on the Ramayan with the appearance of the mighty Hanuman! This epic story unravels the strong bond between the mighty, yet humble monkey deity and Lord Ram. Stories of Hanuman’s love, devotion, selfless service, knowledge, power and strength are revealed on NDTV Imagine’s Ramayan, starting June 24th at 9:30 p.m.!

While Lord Ram and Lakshman look for Sita who has been abducted by the demon king Ravan, their search brings them to the vicinity of the mountain Rishyamukha, where the monkey king Sugriva lives with his followers. Having seen them in his territory, Sugriva sends Hanuman to ascertain their identities. Hanuman approaches the two brothers in the disguise of a Brahmin but soon realizes that Ram is none other than his revered master. Thereafter, Hanuman's life becomes interwoven inextricably with that of Ram. Hanuman then brings about a friendship and alliance between Ram and Sugriva. When Sugriva realizes that Ram is Lord Vishnu in a mortal avatar, he and his followers become his devotees. While Ram helps Sugriva regain his honor and makes him king of Kishkindha, Sugriva and his vanaras, most notably Hanuman, help Ram defeat Ravan and reunite with Sita.

The strong bond between Shri Ram and Hanuman is one of the emotional strengths of Ramayan. Hanuman becomes the hero of the chapters that narrate the battle between Lord Ram and Ravan. He is the eternal symbol for mankind of unconditional devotion, faith and love of the devotee for the Lord. The episodes which ensure after the meeting of Ram and Hanuman are strong in emotional content and are filled with ceaseless special effects as the Monkey lord performs one amazing feat after another! The character of Hanuman will be played by Vikram Sharma.
