Tulsi is Smriti and Smriti is Tulsi

That Smriti Z Irani and Ektaa Kapoor have kissed and made up is old news. The latest is Ektaa might be paving the way for India’s favourite bahu’s comeback in ‘Kyunkii Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’.

Never mind if Ektaa is still in denial. Says Ektaa emphatically, “Tulsi is Smriti and Smriti is Tulsi. This cannot change. We will look at it in the future once we sit down on the table. As of now, nothing has been decided.”

Call it coincidence or a carefully crafted strategy, those who have quit Balaji telefims gharana have never really retained their place on prime time television. Does Ekta have a hand in this? Well…

“I feel that those who move away from Balaji, do so because they don’t want to be a part of the company anymore. So I can’t blame them. But when you’re part of a company, you need to put in your best.”

Known to be an outright “extremist” in her temperament, does Ekta hold a grudge against her leading actors who have bid goodbye to her?

“People think I harbour animosity towards them. I don’t. Or else I wouldn’t be the person I am.”

Why has Balaji not forayed into reality shows, a sure-shot TRP grabber? Ekta remains non-chalant.

“Soaps get consistent rating as women watch them all over the week. Husbands and the kids take over on weekends. Soaps are like homemade food. You go to a restaurant only once in a while.”

Does Ekta suffer from insecurity complex? “Of course I do. The industry is all about insecurity. In fact, it pushes me to do better!”
